Summer 2013 in P-Town will be huge as two giants of nightlife reunite for the first time in more than a decade. Joey Arias and Raven O have chosen the prestigious Art House on Commercial Street to mesmerize crowds with powerful music and trademark antics all season. Their show “Wanted Live” promises to deliver memories and mayhem. “P-Town has grown into an amazing place for shows and art and Raven and I can’t wait to be part of it” Arias said. “We want to make people’s vacations complete, to dream and laugh at the world around us”.
Arias has been touring the world including a solo concert at Central Park Summer Stage, Carnegie Hall and The Southbank Centre in London. Before that, Joey’s show “Arias With a Twist” played to sold out crowds in NYC, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Paris. Joey also had a successful run as the “Mistress of Seduction” in Cirque Du Soleil’s “Zumanity” in Las Vegas.
Raven O just finished a six year run as the “Ringleader of Debauchery” for the notorious nightclub “The Box” in NYC and London and “The Act” in Las Vegas. In 2010, critics raved about his off Broadway show “Raven O, One Night With You” Raven also worked in “Zumanity” with Arias.
The Dynamic Duo both have their roots in Jazz. Arias a drag
chanteuse, has been called “Lady Night” to Billie Holiday’s “Lady Day”. The androgynous Raven O is described as “the new face of jazz”. The pair also plans to mix standards and pop with their unique chemistry and comedy which has flourished during their 20 year relationship as performers and close friends.
The two have been dreaming and scheming about a chance to work together again. Raven O on Joey: “I owe my whole career and success to Joey. The Goddess gave me my first big break and I am in awe every time I see Joey perform. When we work, the chemistry is amazing, no rehearsals needed” Joey on Raven: “All the years that I’ve known Raven I have seen an artist grow, quickly and beautifully” Arias observed. “He’s elegant yet daring, taking chances to push boundaries.”
